Ladies and gentleman it’s once again time for the start of one of the most exciting, fast paced and entertaining sports that America has to offer. The MLL (Major League Lacrosse) season opens this upcoming Saturday, May 14th with a matchup of your Denver Outlaw and the Hamilton Nationals 7:00 PM, mountain time, at INVESCO Field at Mile High.
The Outlaw have an excellent standing tradition of being one of the strongest teams in the MLL. Since their inception into the league in 2006 they have not missed a single post season and have battled for the championship three out of five years, though have not won the Steinfeld Cup. Last year they finished second in the western division with an 8-4 win loss ratio and tied for the best finishing record in the MLL for the 2010 season.
The Nationals are the most recent active entry into the MLL (founded in 2009) and have recently moved from Toronto to their current home in Hamilton, Ontario. They had a rough season last year with a 3-9 win loss ratio and were 0-2 against the Outlaw.
Look forward to an intense opening match, where both teams will be hungry for a win. The Nationals will be eager to prove themselves, being the clear underdog and of course the Outlaws have their reputation to defend.
Something else to get excited about, it’s become even easier to follow our fantastic team wherever they go. The MLL has recently signed an agreement with ESPN to have all home and away games streaming live on ESPN3.com as well as having the entire post season on ESPN 2. This means that now you never have to miss the action even if you can’t make it to the game in person.
